Hotel General Manager Maternity Cover

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Hotel General Manager to join this 170+ rooms led venue for a 12-month maternity cover 184-bedroom 3-star hotel on the outskirts of Southampton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic leader to showcase their expertise in driving revenue, enhancing the guest experience, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the hotel.

As the Hotel General Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the team to deliver exceptional service and experiences for our guests, with a focus on maintaining high standards across all departments.

  • Driving revenue growth through effective leadership, strategic planning, and identifying new revenue streams.

  • Overseeing operations, including housekeeping, front of house, limited food and beverage, and maintenance, ensuring efficiency and excellence in every area.

  • Maintaining strong attention to detail in all aspects of hotel management, from operational standards to guest satisfaction.

  • Managing budgets, forecasting, and ensuring profitability while maintaining cost controls.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or in a senior management role in the hotel or hospitality industry, with a focus on operations and revenue management.

  • A passion for guest experience with the ability to lead by example and inspire teams to exceed expectations.

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing large teams in a busy hotel environment.

  • Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.

  • The ability to adapt quickly, manage multiple tasks, and handle high-pressure situations.

  • Knowledge of the local Southampton market and industry trends is a plus.
