With a strong commitment to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction, the business is seeking a Yard Supervisor to join its friendly and dynamic team at the busy Chandlers Ford branch.

The Yard Supervisor will play a vital role in supporting branch operations, ensuring the timely delivery of pumps and associated equipment to meet customer expectations. This is a hands-on role, based in the yard, where you will oversee daily operations, supervise the yard team, and assist with various tasks, including loading and unloading vehicles, organising equipment, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist with loading and unloading vehicles, checking hire items against paperwork, and noting any missing or damaged items.
Organise and supervise the cleaning of equipment using pressure washing tools, ensuring it is ready for workshop entry.
Perform post-hire checks on equipment such as road ramps and drip trays.
Prepare ancillaries and accessories for hire jobs, ensuring all items are accounted for and in good condition.
Conduct daily yard inspections, removing potential hazards and ensuring a safe working environment.
Relay important information, including toolbox talks, to the yard team and embed safe working practices.
Carry out small deliveries and collections to customer sites, suppliers, or within the branch network, meeting agreed timelines.
Proactively uphold and improve Health & Safety standards, reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
Support the team by working overtime as required by the business.

Skills & Experience Required:

Previous experience in a similar Yard or Warehouse type environment is essential.
Supervisory, Team Leading or Management of Yard or Warehouse teams is preferred, with the ability to lead and motivate a team to perform at their best.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
Forklift licence is desirable but not essential.
Physically fit due to the nature of the role, with a high level of reliability.
Basic computer literacy is required.
Full UK driving licence is essential.
