Job Title: Technical Underwriter

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent 

Salary Range: £35,200 - £52,800 dependant on experience 

Location: Eastleigh – visit to office on average once a weekClosing Date for Applications: Friday 22nd November

Technical Underwriter: The Technical Underwriting Team at Ageas deliver to promise by providing the technical expertise and oversight to deliver products and product change to market in line with business and regulatory requirements and maintaining their integrity throughout the product lifecycle. Simply put, the Technical Underwriting Team are ‘Product Controllers’

Your responsibilities as a Technical Underwriter will include:

  • Facilitate change and create business requirements on behalf of the Underwriting team.
  • Supporting projects, providing technical underwriting knowledge, such as Policy Wording, Rating Impacts and Technical Specification.
  • Managing and resolving rating and product issues, root cause analysis, resolution, and process improvements.
  • Creation of technical wording to support Pricing and Underwriting changes.
  • Work closely with account managers, pricing teams and operational areas.

What you will need to succeed in the Technical Underwriter Role:

  • Relevant Qualification e.g. CII, HND, Prince2
  • An excellent eye for detail is essential, as well as the ability to recognise and flag business risks.
  • Ability to convey complex underwriting information to stakeholders of all levels.
  • Excellent grammatical and numerical skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and proposition delivery
  • Strong ability to analyse, investigate and solve complex issues.
  • Organised and thorough, with strong prioritisation skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to intermediate level, as well as the full outlook suite.
