U-Educate are working with an SEMH School who arecurrently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to join the team on a full-time basis. The role will involve providing general cover for absent staff, ensuring that students continue to receive high-quality learning and support throughout the school day.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students during lessons in the absence of their usual class teacher. Your primary role will be to ensure that students engage with the lesson materials, maintain positive behavior, and receive the appropriate support during their lessons. The role will include working with students who have various special educational needs, so a compassionate and adaptable approach is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in the absence of their class teacher, ensuring they are working effectively and following instructions.
  • Support the students with their learning, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the school's policies, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Adapt lesson materials to meet the specific needs of students, working closely with the teaching staff to ensure consistency.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for all students.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children, ideally within a SEN setting, although this is not essential.
  • A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and a commitment to their development.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to adapt quickly and remain calm under pressure.
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students with additional needs.
  • A willingness to learn and grow professionally in a supportive environment.
