The Procurement Buyer / Procurement Senior Buyer will join a large supply chain function of Junior Buyers, Buyers and Senior Buyers. The focus of the procurement activity is a blend of operational and strategic tasks, with Buyers responsible for ensuring continuity of supply, supplier development of an assigned commodity set and contributing to savings targets.
Specific duties of the Procurement Buyer / Procurement Senior Buyer include:
- Drive supplier performance in relation to operational KPIs and metrics - OTIF/OTD
- Ensure availability of materials and services - off the shelf commodities (pumps, valves, motors, spare parts, gaskets, seals)
- Drive rationalisation of suppliers and materials to streamline the supply chain and capitalise on economies
- Spot negotiations
- Work with Quality in regards to NCR and supplier quality issues
- Maintain procurement department reports and update performance and savings tracker
- Utilise procurement department data in ERP to drive procurement decisions
Procurement Buyer / Procurement Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Procurement experience at Buyer or Senior Buyer level
- Previous exposure to a manufacturing, engineering or similar procurement environment
- MRP/ERP literate
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model after probation (attendance 5 days in the office is also OK)
- Self-motivated and pro-active.
