Our client are global leaders, they are recruiting for a Purchasing Officer to support their organization at all stages pf their supply chain.

Purchasing Officer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the organization at all stages of the supply chain, ensuring steady flow of materials throughout the site
  • Generate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for key suppliers
  • Assist in Requests for Quotations for new business
  • Be responsible for negotiating and agree pricing with suppliers
  • Raise and manage invoice and EC orders/ enquiries
  • Obtaining and transacting into MRP, the weekly expedite reports, acknowledgements from suppliers and review monthly shortage reports
  • Identifying and reporting to both operational staff and the Purchasing Manager any risk in the supply chain that may impact on the ability to manufacture to plan
  • Ensure Quality standards are rigorously applied and all health and safety legislative/ policy requirements are met

The ideal Purchasing Officer will:

  • Previous demonstrable experience in buying/ MRP
  • Broad understanding of the requirements of high volume buying within electronics industry
  • Experienced in the negotiation of prices with suppliers
  • Full understanding of Quality standards that are applied to
  • Able to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers
  • Numerate, accurate with an attention to detail
  • Excellent PC skills, including MS Office, Excel
  • CIPS accreditation (desirable)
