Job Title: Administrator

Location: Stepping Hill Hospital, Poplar Grove, Stockport SK2 7JE

Hours: 37.5 per week Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm / 8.30am - 4.30pm / 9am - 5pm

Trust Location: Stockport NHS Foundation Trust

Role type: Temporary for 3 months with possibility of extension

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Take part in managing, on a daily basis, all appointment administration undertaken within the Outpatient Booking Team
  • Manage and monitor the outpatient waiting list and book appointments
  • Process patient referrals into the trust
  • Make outgoing calls, negotiating appointment dates and times with patients
  • Access and update various IT systems i.e. the Trust Patient Administration System, the national Electronic Referral system, the Evolve scanning system and Somerset Database, Envoy and other IT systems

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • General knowledge of office/administration procedures
  • Customer service experience via telephone
  • Experience of using large databases to process information
  • Experience of outpatient bookings and hospital PAS system (desirable)
  • Enthusiastic, confident approach to change, calm and reliable under pressure
