The Role
As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care, guidance, and emotional support to young people in a registered residential children's home. You will act as a positive role model, supporting their personal development, independence, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting relationships with young people, helping them to develop life skills and confidence.
- Support children with challenging behaviours, self-harm, attachment disorders, and special educational needs.
- Act as a key worker, developing care plans and risk assessments tailored to individual needs.
- Assist in education and daily activities, including homework, social skills, and independence training.
- Promote safeguarding, health, and safety within the home, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
- Support young people with emotional regulation and behavioural management strategies.
- Engage in team meetings, training, and personal development opportunities.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, and be available for on-call duties, short breaks, and holidays with residents.
