Residential Care Worker - Children

Location: Ebbw ValeSalary: Up to £34,560 all inc.

This well-established residential care provider is seeking experienced Residential Care Workers to support children and young people with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties (ESBD), attachment disorders, and special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and structured environment.

The Role

As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care, guidance, and emotional support to young people in a registered residential children's home. You will act as a positive role model, supporting their personal development, independence, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with young people, helping them to develop life skills and confidence.
  • Support children with challenging behaviours, self-harm, attachment disorders, and special educational needs.
  • Act as a key worker, developing care plans and risk assessments tailored to individual needs.
  • Assist in education and daily activities, including homework, social skills, and independence training.
  • Promote safeguarding, health, and safety within the home, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
  • Support young people with emotional regulation and behavioural management strategies.
  • Engage in team meetings, training, and personal development opportunities.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, and be available for on-call duties, short breaks, and holidays with residents.
