Job description
This leading manufacturing company are looking for a hard working despatch/warehouse and workshop assistant to play a key role in handling the products that go through the despatch process efficiently and accurately. This is a multi disciplined role where you will trained in all areas including production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse and Despatch. This position is offered on a 4 day week Monday - Thursday 7.30 am - 4.30 pm alternatively there is a 9.00am/9.30am - 4.30 pm shift available.
This position is ideal for someone with some work experience looking to progress their career or a trainee seeking full training in a career in despatch and warehouse.
You will be working in the Warehouse/Workshop area and some of your duties may include -
- Unpacking orders, receipting goods
- Responsible for picking and packing orders to despatch to customers
- Utilising hand held scanners for stock checks and stock control
- General Warehouse duties such as moving of items in warehouse or from deliveries being unloaded, some lifting (not heavy) and use of trolleys for unloading goods required.
- Some simple assembly work in workshop
- Quality Assurance
- Helping to keep work areas tidy and free from obstruction
- Use of IT to process despatches
- This role is highly suited to a hard worker who pays attention to detail at all times, who has some computer skills to use despatch scanners and print invoices, is flexible, proactive and reactive to the changing needs of the business and enjoys being part of a busy, friendly team.
- Hours Monday - Thursday 7:30am- 4:30pm or 9.00am/9.30am - 4.30pm
Some work experience ideal particularly in Warehouse/workshop or despatch being an advantage but not essential as for a trainee full training can be offered, IT skills, enthusiasm to learn, real team spirit and attention to detail essential.
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: upto c£24,000.00 per year negotiable depending on experience and hours worked.
