Management Accountant Edinburgh

Robert Half is delighted to be partnered with an organisaiton that is leading in it's field to appoint a new Management Accountant.

The Role

You will be reporting to the Group Financial Controller and collaborate with the wider finance function as well as non-finance stakeholders. This is a key finance role in a growing business whilst it navigates through an exciting period. All-round capabilities are essential to succeed in the position. While the role requires strong financial accounting capabilities, it also demands excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be required to undertake all or some of these activities as required:

  • Ownership of sections of the month-end process:
    • Enabling the completion of monthly management accounts and management information pack
    • Operating Costs Analysis on a monthly basis
    • Cost of Sales Analysis on a monthly basis
    • Assisting the GFC in maintaining the monthly reporting cycle of 4 days
  • Management of Capex and Fixed Assets ledger
  • Management of stock movements and bi-annual stock counts
  • High level of engagement withauditorsandtaxadvisors:
    • Leading and owning preparation of key year-end audit files as defined with the GFC
  • Becoming a Netsuite (Oracle system) superuser to assist the team with queries
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Financial filing responsibilities:
    • Preparing and submitting quarterly group MTD VAT returns
    • Liaising with HMRC on VAT and Corporate Tax issues/queries as required
    • Companies House submissions for all group members
    • Completing required surveys for relevant authorities

Key Qualifications and Attributes

  • Qualified or part-qualified with significant experience
    • Ability to handle both financial and management reporting
  • Process-oriented
    • Capacity to embrace change and improve processes
    • Disciplined when working with a timetable
  • Sharp, inquisitive,andanalytical with a focus on insightful analysis
    • Strong Excel skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to relate to individuals across all functions within the business

West Edinburgh - office best accessed by car with onsite parking

Hybrid working model: 3 days office per week

Salary £40-45,000 DOE
