About the Role:We are currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join a leading company in Edinburgh on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with experience in accounts receivable or credit control to join a dynamic finance team and support with managing customer accounts, collections, and billing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and maintain accounts receivable transactions, including the accurate invoicing of clients and customers.
  • Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies in payments.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly aged debt reports and cash forecasts.
  • Liaise with customers and internal departments to resolve queries or issues related to billing and payments.
  • Process receipts and allocate payments in the accounting system.
  • Support with month-end processes, ensuring that all outstanding invoices are accounted for.
  • Assist with any ad-hoc finance tasks, such as preparing reports or supporting audits.

About You:

  • Proven experience in an Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or Finance Assistant role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Dynamics, SAP, or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deal with customers and colleagues professionally.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in a contract or temporary role would be an advantage.
