Salary: £14.00 - £15.00 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Assistant (Handyman) to join our team and support the upkeep of a large site in Edinburgh. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in general maintenance, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform both planned and reactive maintenance tasks within your skillset.
  • Oversee subcontractors to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers to secure cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality.
  • Support skilled tradespeople with maintenance, repairs, testing, inspections, and installations.
  • Conduct minor repairs to building fabric to ensure a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Respond proactively to adverse weather conditions, including snow clearing, gritting, and managing high winds or flooding.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and meet service requirements.
  • Travel to different sites within your designated portfolio as required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations across all sites.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by providing efficient and professional service.
  • Address maintenance issues promptly to prevent project delays and financial penalties.
  • Keep maintenance records up to date, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in maintenance, handyman, or facilities roles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • A proactive and reliable approach to maintenance and repair tasks.
