Harper Macleod are currently seeing an apprentice to join their Edinburgh office. 

Based in the city centre, you will work for an organisation that provide expert advice on areas such as personal injury, employment law and medical negligence. You will pro-actively provide an efficient, organised and professional service by ensuring that the team have the appropriate support for all aspects of their work activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop within a business that has supported over 80 apprentices through their qualification in partnership with QA! In 2023 alone they onboarded over 20 apprentices into their offices across Scotland.

You will be working towards a Digital Applications Support SCQF Level 6.

What you will be doing:

  • First point of contact for HM staff and clients via telephone
  • Manage the central booking system via staff intranet. You will use this system to book meeting rooms in advance for colleagues and clients
  • Set up meeting rooms, including audio visual systems and be on hand to troubleshoot problems
  • Manage centralised inbox via MS Outlook
  • Work in collaboration with the marketing and finance teams to ensure HM brand is being represented and appropriate invoices are handled for catering, events etc

You will need the following skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • A personality that brings positive energy to all areas of the operation
  • A committed attitude and dedication to creating a memorable guest experience
  • Experience using email and Microsoft packages
  • Switchboard experience is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail

Salary:

£23,805 per annum

Working week:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Future prospects:

Should you perform well in this role there is an opportunity for you to take up a permanent position at the end of your qualification. Many of our previous apprentices are still with the company. Future salary will be discussed should you be offered a permanent role.
