iMultiply is working in partnership with a leading Scottish Legal firm to recruit for a Tax Manager/Senior Manager.The FirmThe Firm is one of the country’s leading Legal Firms with an enviable reputation for excellence.The Role

The successful candidate will provide advice on tax matters relating to company transactions, complex property deals, and fund structuring. You will also offer tax planning, compliance support, and consultancy services, particularly for property tax issues. The role involves advising on tax implications for corporate and commercial transactions, with opportunities to work on a variety of tax advisory projects, including employment taxes and share incentives.The Corporate Tax Manager/Senior Manager will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Advising on tax structuring of corporate transactions and drafting and negotiating transactional tax documentation
  • Advising clients and colleagues on SDLT/LBTT VAT, capital allowances implications as well as general tax structuring of property transactions
  • Tax planning for business owners and managers, including vendor tax planning, structuring investment into UK businesses and restructuring business entities
  • Advising on devolved tax matters
  • Advising on the design and implementation of employee share incentives including implications on corporate transactions
  • Advising on the tax structuring of investment funds and fund executive remuneration
  • Presenting or assisting with internal and external tax updates, e-updates, client seminars and webinars and training
  • Work with the partners to lead and deliver business development initiatives and implementation of team strategy

The Person

  • 4+ years of PQE experience
  • Legally qualified or CA/CTA qualified
  • Takes a pragmatic and commercial approach to transactions
  • Participates in, contributes to and where appropriate takes a lead in the business development activities of the team, practice area and firm
  • Shows understanding of clients’ needs, and tailors advice appropriately
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Communicates in a confident, clear and relaxed way
  • Adapts style of communication appropriately when dealing with colleagues and clients
  • Takes responsibility for their own workload, and supervises those less experienced
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Works to understand the team’s key clients, the industry they operate in and the challenges they face
  • Keeping appraised of changes in the law and developments in the practice area
