Finance Manager - Edinburgh-Based Start-Up (3-Month Contract)iMultiply are delighted to be supporting an exciting, fast-growing start-up based in Edinburgh, looking for a dynamic Finance Manager to join our team on an initial 3-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations while driving improvements in our processes and procedures. As part of a small, agile team, you will have a significant impact on the financial efficiency and success of the business.This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional looking to make an immediate impact in a start-up environment, with the potential for future opportunities as the business grows.Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, VAT returns, payroll, tax compliance, and maintain the Fixed Asset Register and bank accounts. Prepare accurate financial reports, providing insightful analysis to support decision-making.
  • Cashflow & Budgeting: Manage cash flow forecasting, costings, and revenue analysis to ensure financial stability and align with the company’s goals.
  • Process & System Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to financial controls, reporting processes, and system efficiencies, contributing to smoother financial operations.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure the company meets all legal and regulatory obligations, including Companies House filings, tax compliance, and internal governance standards.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified/part-qualified or qualified by experience with 5+ years in finance and administration, including a solid understanding of UK accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT regulations and governance requirements in the UK.
  • Demonstrated experience managing tight budgets and preparing financial reports for senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Keen focus on continuous improvement in financial processes.
  • Previous experience working in a standalone finance role within a start-up environment is highly desirable.
