The Opportunity
This thriving SME are looking to appoint the companies first Head of Finance due to an excellent 2024 and exceptional future forecasts triggering the need for a more senior inhouse appointment. The finances have been running extremely smoothly for the last few years but as a result of performance, coupled with the businesses stage & size - now is the optimum time to make this appointment.
It’s essential this appoint bring values, with the CEO & Board has three main components:
- Commercial & operational value - the ability to business partner with the Board & SLT to influence strategy, direction and decision making
- Process & continuous improvement - the ability to review processes, procedures, controls and systems. In particular streamlining and utilising systems for automation.
- BAU finance & financial control - a proven track record of a robust month-end close and creating & maintaining a bullet-proof financial governance
It’s essential the individual is also passionate about leadership as it’s planned they will be hiring, training and developing in the finance function in the short-medium term, but also isn’t shy of getting their hands dirty and understanding the businesses finance from the ground up.
With the fantastic growth journey ahead, it also wouldn’t be out with the realms of possibility for this role to become Finance Director within the next few years.
On Offer
The position of Head of Finance is based in Edinburgh with strong hybrid & flexible working. The role will offer a base salary of up to £75,000 plus a range of other benefits & perks.
Candidate Profile
We are keen to engage with candidates that meet the below criteria:
- Qualified Accountant
- Proven track record at least Finance Manager level, or Financial Controller/Head of Finance
- SME experience is advantageous
- Can demonstrate operational and commercial acumen
- Exposure to continuous/process improvement
