  • Reviewing Self-Assessment tax returns prepared by colleagues, ensuring accuracy for client approval and timely electronic submission.
  • Engaging with clients on routine and bespoke assignments via email, phone, and in-person meetings, covering topics such as inheritance tax, income tax, and capital gains tax.
  • Supporting partners in delivering advisory projects, including drafting reports on inheritance tax planning, residency issues, UK trusts, and optimal business structures.
  • Preparing for and attending meetings with existing and prospective clients, setting budgets for follow-up work, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Corresponding with HMRC on s9A enquiries and preparing disclosures via the digital disclosure facility.
  • Coordinating the collection of data required for tax returns, liaising with clients and third-party professionals as needed.
  • Handling routine client correspondence promptly and efficiently.
  • Organising and prioritising your workload to maintain exceptional client service and meet HMRC deadlines, working independently with initiative.

  • Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative in client matters and time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, alongside solid general IT skills.
  • People management capabilities to guide junior team members.
  • Commercial awareness to support business growth and client satisfaction.

If you're enthusiastic about private client tax, thrive on building relationships with high-net-worth individuals, and are eager to advance your career within a supportive, top-tier firm, we'd love to hear from you. Join our Edinburgh team and play a key role in our continued success.
