Job Purpose

  • Support a portfolio of clients, maintaining excellent rapport as their go-to advisor
  • Review draft budgets, maximising fee income for the firm
  • Build strong rapport with clients, handling queries quickly and effectively
  • Work closely with Partners to support the commercial aspects of portfolio management
  • Review drafted corporate tax computations
  • Review drafted financial statements
  • Support the provision of advisory work
  • Monitor work in progress for your portfolio, escalating any potential problems to Partners
  • Monitor budgets and team performance, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met
  • Oversee Companies House filings, ensuring timely and accurate completions
  • Mentor junior staff through providing constructive feedback, reviewing accounts and delegating work
  • Support the firm to continue on its trajectory of growth with regular networking and contributing innovative ideas for expansion
  • Set an example as a friendly, hands-on and approachable Assistant Manager

Job Requirements

  • ACCA / ACA qualified or part-qualified
  • Qualified by experience also considered
  • A proven track record of managing a client portfolio within practice
  • Experience [producing year-end financial statements and management accounts
  • Previous supervisory experience with good people management skills
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbally
  • A high level of IT proficiency, with the ability to use MS Office, Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and a keen eye for detail
  • Strong commercial acumen and an enthusiasm to support business growth
  • Friendly and professional demeanour, able to inspire a team
  • Self-motivated, highly organised and able to work autonomously to meet deadlines
  • Able to work closely with Partners and aid business development
