We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join a well-established and respected legal team in Edinburgh. This role is pivotal in supporting two Partners within our busy Residential Conveyancing department. This position is a traditional secretarial role, offering the chance to become an integral part of a team handling a high volume of residential conveyancing transactions. You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial support to two Partners specialising in Residential Conveyancing.
  • Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
  • Preparing and formatting legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
  • Handling telephone enquiries and liaising with clients and other professionals.
  • Maintaining and organising physical and electronic files.
  • Processing and managing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Conducting Land Registry searches and other relevant administrative tasks.
  • Audio typing and digital dictation.
  • Assisting with file management and archiving.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a Residential Conveyancing department.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A proactive and professional approach.
  • Experience with Land Registry procedures is highly desirable.
  • Experience with audio typing and digital dictation.
