Your new companyHays are looking for a heating engineer to work with one of our national clients, based in Edinburgh. This role is crucial in ensuring multiple buildings' mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standards, contributing to a safe and comfortable environment for customers, staff, and visitors.Your new roleYou will be joining the on-site trade team working within office blocks, leisure facilities & student accommodation in Edinburgh City Centre - please see a brief list of duties below:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems, including boilers, radiators, and heat pumps.
  • Conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting heating system issues and performing necessary repairs.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and university policies.
  • Managing and monitoring energy consumption to promote energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Responding promptly to emergency heating system issues and maintenance requests.
  • Keeping detailed records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.

What you'll need to succeedYou will need to be a qualified heating engineer, ideally with a background of working in commercial buildings. You will need to provide all proof of qualifications and have a valid UK Driving Licence. This position will involve interaction with members of the public from diverse backgrounds, so you should have strong customer-facing skills. What you'll get in returnYou will be offered a long-term contract with a high chance of becoming permanent. Hays will pay you weekly with the option for accrued annual leave, and you will receive regular updates from your Hays consultant.
