Three Bridges Recruitment is currently working with a prestigious Edinburgh-based hospitality company to recruit a Payroll Assistant on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is an office-based role where you will learn from an experienced and supportive manager.

Job

As a Payroll Assistant, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various key payroll activities, including:

  • Compiling and processing multiple 'four-weekly’ payrolls.
  • Managing the onboarding and offboarding of employees within the payroll system.
  • Processing and finalising holiday requests in accordance with company policies.
  • Addressing payroll-related queries from employees and management.
  • Ensuring payroll operations are conducted accurately, compliantly, and within deadlines.
  • Supporting internal and external payroll audits.
  • Handling additional administrative tasks as required.

You

To excel as a Payroll Assistant, you should demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Prior experience in payroll administration.
  • Familiarity with computerised payroll software (e.g., Sage, Pegasus, ADP).
  • A professional attitude and the ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with staff and management.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A reliable, adaptable, and committed work ethic.
  • A high level of proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
