SALARY £45-50,000 BASE PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS PACKAGE

Based in Edinburgh and with bases across the UK, grw talent’s client has over 20 years of experience designing and delivering highly complex automated storage equipment and managing full turn key projects from design through to installation and commissioning; for clients globally. The business is expanding into new geographies, new customers and developing new technology. They now need to make the key hire of a Project Manager.

Working hybrid from home and in the Edinburgh office/Edinburgh Park (3 days per week), the Project Manager will be expected to do some international travel (roughly c25% of your time).

Reporting to the Head of Projects, the Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end delivery of automated storage systems projects, including vertical lift machines and trolley storage machines, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and provide technical oversight to ensure the seamless integration of our systems into client operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead multiple simultaneous projects, from initiation to completion, adhering to timelines, budgets, and scope.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring alignment with their requirements and expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, design, operations, software development, and field services) and external vendors to ensure project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead project meetings and workshops to ensure clarity on goals, progress, and roadblocks.
  • Proactively identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and adapt to changing project conditions.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of automated storage machines and systems.
  • Manage projects in diverse locations, accommodating different time zones, languages, and cultural expectations.

The relevant candidate is ideally educated to degree/HND calibre in an engineering discipline or time served – civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering or has a formal Project Management qualification. You have a proven background managing complex engineering projects.  This will suit candidates from a range of backgrounds. We would be very keen to hear from candidates who have worked on electro-mechanical automation equipment projects, systems and sub-systems. Candidates should have some experience of leading international projects and ideally following project plans from inception/design through to install and commissioning and support in the field.

This job represents a superb opportunity for a proven or aspiring Project Manager who loves large electro-mechanical product / equipment design and automation. As the business expands so too will your role and the scope of projects you manage – upgrades to existing products in the field, cradle to grave on current product new sales and the roll out of a new product line globally. Your base salary £45-50,000 is complemented by company pension, home office furniture allowance, 33 days annual leave (including public holidays) and a company wide bonus scheme.
