Communications Officer - 10 weeks - £19-24 ph

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications Officer to work for a large public sector organisation in Edinburgh. You will be a part of the website team and play a key role in the development of the organisations website. You will work alongside Content Designers and play an integral part in providing administrative and operational support

Essential skills:

  • Demonstrable experience in a communications role
  • Experience in understanding audience needs and business objectives
  • Demonstrable experience in project coordination
  • Experience of facilitating team meetings, webinars, events and/or conferences online
  • Proficient in creating accurate, engaging and compelling content that resonates with an online audience.
  • Proven knowledge of SEO and implementing best practices when creating web content.
  • Confident researcher, using a variety of methods to produce web content, including job profiles, blogs, and case studies
  • Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and using them to inform the development of web content for all users
  • Ability to respond to confidential and sensitive situations with confidence and discretion, utilising tact, diplomacy, and persuasion skills when necessary
  • Line management skills and experience including coaching and/or mentoring of team members
  • Proven expertise in using Microsoft 365, in particular Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
