We are collaborating with a well-established and highly regarded specialist subcontractor, boasting over 30 years of experience and a strong reputation within Tier 1 contractors. With a consistent and robust pipeline of projects, they are looking to expand their team by hiring a Quantity Surveyor.

The first project you will be involved in is a high-value, large-scale new build public development in East Lothian. Their package is valued at approximately 6 million. This project is part of a broader development and is expected to last for 12 months. Afterward, you will transition to the next project in the pipeline.

As an experienced Quantity Surveyor, your role will include:

Collaborating with project teams to effectively manage and monitor costs.
Assisting with the drafting and review of tender documentation.
Supporting the preparation of progress updates and financial reports.
Contributing to cost estimation and budget planning.
Measuring and valuing completed work.
Helping to negotiate and formalize agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:

Overseeing project costs and developing detailed project cost plans.
Managing the commercial aspects of ongoing projects.
Working alongside the Project Manager to ensure financial and commercial matters are clearly communicated.
Engaging with design and operational teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Managing the procurement process for subcontractors.
Preparing valuations, creating commercial reports, and identifying any variations.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
A team-oriented approach, with the ability to collaborate closely with the commercial team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all project team members.
