Software Engineer (AWS, S3, API Gateway, TypeScript) needed for our Fintech Client in Edinburgh, for an initial 3-month contract. Our client is looking for a talented Software Engineer with extensive AWS experience and API Gateway Development experience to join their team on an initial 3-month Contract.

The role is Outside IR35 and is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days per week onsite in Edinburgh. If you're available now/at short notice and familiar with innovative FinTech solutions, we're keen to hear from you!

Role Overview: As a Software Engineer (AWS, S3, API Gateway, TypeScript), you will play a crucial role in developing/enhancing new services, ensuring high-quality, secure, and fit-for-purpose code that meets business and architectural requirements etc.

To be successful, skills & experience should include:

  1. Extensive Software Development & API Development experience, ideally with a focus on innovative FinTech Solutions
  2. Proficiency in AWS services (Amazon Route 53, CloudFront, API Gateway, S3) with the ability to create an API Gateway
  3. Additional knowledge/experience with mTLS authentication, OAuth, RESTful API development (Open API, JSON Schema)
  4. Strong skills in TypeScript and Node.js
  5. Knowledge of serverless computing (AWS Lambda)
  6. Experience with relational databases (MySQL on AWS Aurora) etc

Desirable skills & experience (that would be helpful but not essential):

  • Any additional knowledge/experience in the likes of Amazon SES, AWS Step Functions, Ant Design, Yarn, Webpack, Puppeteer, Type ORM, FoalTS, GatherContent etc.
  • CI/CD configuration (Azure Pipelines)
  • Experience in the Financial Services / FinTech industry
