Supply Chain Manager – Edinburgh

Be-Resourcing is proud to be representing one of Scotland’s leading utilities companies on the hunt for a talented Supply Chain Manager to join their ever-growing team in Edinburgh on a hybrid basis (3 days in office, 2 days at home).

T his is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in optimizing supplier performance and managing procurement activities. You’ll lead strategic projects and ensure seamless contract management, all while driving continuous improvement to enhance overall service delivery.

The Supply Chain Manager's role is to deliver strong supply chain management performance whilst supporting strategic projects to enable the goal of delivering ever-improving levels of customer service. The Supply Chain Manager will manage and develop a portfolio of strategic supplier relationships, working closely with internal business partners.

Key Accountabilities include (but not limited to):

  • Provide timely updates and engage stakeholders on all aspects of supply chain management.
  • Deliver a comprehensive overview of supplier performance, ensuring quality, cost, and volume targets are met while addressing broader quality and assurance issues.
  • Ensure suppliers have the necessary inputs to consistently deliver excellent services or goods.
  • Document key supply chain activities with clearly identified owners. Where applicable, integrate relevant KPIs/SLAs into supplier contracts, and secure stakeholder buy-in for internal activities to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support the development of a supplier relationship strategy across the portfolio, focusing on proactive engagement with suppliers.
  • Drive an effective supplier relationship management (SRM) program, fostering open communication and a culture of respect that promotes mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain clear, measurable performance metrics for suppliers.
  • Lead tendering processes for key contracts, from developing statements of work to recommending contract awards.
  • Oversee the delivery and seamless integration of new suppliers or contracts into the business.
  • Implement and manage corrective action plans with suppliers to address performance issues.
  • Lead and coordinate supplier audits, reviews, and assessments on a regular basis, including annual, quarterly, and monthly evaluations.
  • Ensure information and records are managed in compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, and company policies, such as data protection and information security.
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by the role
  • Promote a strong understanding of health and safety obligations, ensuring team compliance with relevant policies and legislation.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience,
  • CIPS qualified or having made significant progress towards CIPS qualification.
  • Experience with developing contract terms and conditions and extensive experience with contract negotiation.
  • Experience in invitation to tender processes from developing the statement of work through to delivery and subsequent integration of new partners into a business.
  • Strong relationship management experience, driving commercial value and performance through major contracts.
  • Experience of managing contracts, developing SLA / KPI’s and managing 3rd party suppliers.
  • Proven track record in a contract management or senior buyer role or equivalent.
  • Strong IT skills to include a wide experience of Microsoft Office products.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
