This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced childcare professional to take the next step in their career within a supportive and high-quality early years setting based in Gamston, Nottingham.

Responsibilities

  • You will assist the Manager in overseeing the operation of the day nursery to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible environment and care are provided for young children.
  • You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure it is promoted and delivered within the setting and the principles adhered to. Whilst also ensuring the inclusion, safeguarding and welfare of the children in the nursery at all times.
  • As deputy you will also have a key role in supporting the planning and monitoring of the nursery curriculum and implementing essential policies and procedures.
  • You will be expected to build good working relationships at every level and represent the nursery at external multi-agency meetings. Working in partnership with parents and families is also valued highly and you must be approachable, friendly and able to communicate effectively at all times.

What we're looking for

  • A full and relevant qualification equivalent toNVQ level 3
  • Post qualifying experience in a full day care setting.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role in the delivery of services for young children.
  • Experience of leading, inspiring and supporting staff teams to improve practice.
  • Experience in using computers, software packages and dealing with office paperwork.
  • A higher level qualification inEarly Years Childcare and Education/Childhood Studiesis desirable but not essential
