Are you an experienced grinder with a passion for precision? We're looking for a skilled Grinder to join our Machine Shop team in Egham. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on high-precision aerospace components, ensuring they meet exacting standards and tolerances. Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate Myford Cylindrical Grinders to perform precision grinding on small-diameter journals, achieving tolerances of +/- microns in low-volume production runs.
  • Grinding Wheel Management: Fit and dress grinding wheels as required to ensure optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
  • MRP System Utilization: Effectively use the MRP system to log attendance and manage work order cards.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area to the highest standard.
  • Team Support: Provide assistance to team members and contribute to overall team productivity.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to Health and Safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other reasonable tasks to support Machine Shop operations as needed.

Experience & Skills:

  • Essential:
    • Proficient in manual grinding with experience using Jones, Shipman, and Myford Grinders.
    • Experienced in grinding small batch aerospace components.
    • Ability to grind to tight tolerances of +/- microns.
    • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, procedures, and specifications.
    • Competent in using hand tools and measuring equipment.
    • Understanding of fits and tolerances.
