We are seeking a dynamic, part-qualified Company Accountant to join a well-established and fast-growing company that has great aspirations to grow over the coming years. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong background in accounting, who is ready to take the Finance department to the next level and prepare it for the future.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Oversee the Purchasing element of the business, working collaboratively with other staff.
  • Handle accounts payable duties, including invoice processing, statement checks, supplier query resolution, payment organisation, and maintaining an accurate Aged Creditor report.
  • Manage accounts receivable tasks, such as raising AFPs, customer invoices, debt chasing, debt query resolution, and maintaining an accurate Aged Debtor report.
  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Maintain accurate Balance Sheet schedules for Fixed Assets, Prepayments, and Accruals.
  • Perform full monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the monthly Balance Sheet and Management Accounts.
  • Prepare and present monthly Management Accounts to Directors and Shareholders.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts.
  • Handle the preparation and submission of monthly CIS returns, Payroll journals, and payments for monthly PAYE and CIS returns to HMRC.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and annual P11D returns.
  • Support external accountants in preparing and finalising Year End Accounts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in AP, AR, Credit Control, Management Accounts, and VAT returns.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting legislation.
  • Ideally Construction industry experience but will consider outside
  • CIMA/ACCA qualified or studying towards full qualification
