We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can inspire students, deliver engaging lessons, and help develop their skills in design, technology, and engineering.

About the Role: As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students. You will work with students across a range of ages and abilities, helping them to develop technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. The role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and creative Design & Technology lessons to secondary school students
  • Provide clear and effective instruction in a variety of design-related topics including product design, resistant materials, and engineering
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' growth and curiosity
  • Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Prepare students for exams and assessments, guiding them through coursework and practical projects
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and support the school's commitment to student development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant subject degree (e.g., Design & Technology, Engineering)
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of Design & Technology topics
  • Experience teaching at secondary school level (Key Stage 3 and 4)
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for inspiring young people and fostering creativity and innovation
  • Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
