Team Leader – Manufacturing

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Manufacturing team at our clients Ellesmere Port site.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of operators to ensure efficient production processes, meeting quality standards, and achieving production targets on time and within specification. You will implement continuous improvement techniques, provide training, and lead process enhancement projects to drive operational excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Team Management
  • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring targets for quality, output, and efficiency are met.
  • Lead, motivate, and support team members to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to optimize team performance.
  • Monitor and manage rejected pallets, ensuring repairs follow site procedures and scrap timber is recorded correctly.
  • Coordinate with other Team Leaders and departments to ensure smooth handovers and seamless production flow.
Training & Development
  • Assist in the induction and training of new employees, ensuring compliance with safe working practices.
  • Maintain training records and ensure all team members are competent in their roles.
  • Encourage development through coaching and skill-building initiatives.
Stock & Process Control
  • Monitor and manage stock supply on the production line to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure piece rates are accurate, and data is recorded correctly following company processes.
  • Uphold and enforce health & safety regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Team Engagement & Communication
  • Foster strong team morale by maintaining open communication and a collaborative culture.
  • Deliver briefings and presentations to keep the team informed on targets, updates, and key initiatives.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring each team member understands their role and responsibilities.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing Team Leader role.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and delegate responsibilities.
  • A customer-focused mindset, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Experience in process improvement and problem-solving within a manufacturing environment.
