Hours:                         20.5 hours on a weekly rota (Monday to Sunday)

 

Supporting Futures are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist Women’s Charity for an Evening Support Worker to support victims of domestic abuse living in a Refuge in Cheshire West.

 

You will be working to support women and children who have experienced domestic abuse to empower them to make positive choices, find safe sustainable housing and move towards independent living.

 

You will be working with women and children fleeing domestic abuse in evenings to create a safe and homely environment through organising various activities and events to encourage client engagement and help them to feel supported and comfortable.

 

You will be providing advice and guidance around all issues relating to domestic abuse, housing, benefits, criminal justice and other related issues and needs.

 

You will be agreeing and working towards support plans, completing risk and needs assessments and supporting client to identify and access additional support and services.

 

You will be working with clients in a trauma informed, person centred manner and will encourage group work, activities and engagement within the Refuge.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable clients and an understanding of domestic abuse and its impact
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as part of a rolling rota/ when required
  • Valid driving license and access to a car
