Overview

This role involves assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and providing individualised support to students, ensuring that each child can thrive academically and socially.
Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities tailored to the needs of students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to children, particularly those requiring special education assistance.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to enhance the learning experience.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Support children with daily tasks, including personal care for toddlers when necessary.
  • Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop strategies for working with children on the autism spectrum.


Experience

  • Previous experience in an educational setting is highly desirable, particularly in special education or toddler care.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A background in educating or supporting children with diverse needs will be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
