Your new companyYou will be working for one of Europe's leading foodservice and wholesale organisations. They are experiencing a period of growth and are looking for an Import & Export Planner to come on board to help bolster the operation in Shropshire. Your new roleThe role involves managing and developing customer and depot relationships, optimising 3PL provider relationships, and ensuring 100% service levels for customers. It requires documenting, maintaining, and developing processes to support business needs, handling queries efficiently, and working closely with onsite operations, general management, external hauliers, and customs agents. Responsibilities include timely and accurate site period-end reporting, optimising export cost and transport arrangements, monitoring dispatch costs, and liaising with supply and operations management on factory capacity. The role also involves collaborating with commercial and operational teams on supply, capacity, and promotional volume issues, developing logistics systems and processes, driving supply chain development, and reporting to senior management.What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate should have experience in warehousing, administration, and international trade within a food manufacturing context. They must possess customs expertise in import/export best practices, be skilled in Excel for accurate data management, and have practical experience in making declarations. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and developed interpersonal, negotiating, and persuasive skills are essential. The candidate should understand the components and trade-offs of an efficient supply chain, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have at least two years of experience in chill chain distribution, 3PL, and transport administration in an FMCG setting.
