The Role

DO SOMETHING BIG, WORK WITH SMALL CHILDREN

This is a wonderful opportunity to independently run a room. It is a beautiful nursery, with a real family feel.

The Day Nursery is set in the centre of the Cathedral city of Ely, in close proximity to the river and surrounding parks. They have the capacity for 48 children split between three rooms; 0-2 years, 2-3 years and 3-5 years. The nursery employs 17 full and part-time staff and is open from 8am – 6.00pm 52 weeks a year. They are closed for Public Holidays.

They are a small group of 5 day nurseries. Each nursery has been carefully adapted and refurbished to an extremely high standard and is well equipped with natural, high quality, stimulating resources. They are an OFSTED Outstanding, Early Education and Care Provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learning how to be an outstanding Nursery Practitioner, whilst working alongside experienced colleagues. You will attend webinars during the day and complete written college work at home. You will be supported by a mentor throughout the training course, which takes 12-18 months to complete.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with children and outstanding parent partnerships.
  • Providing a safe, hygienic, caring and stimulating environment for the children.
  • Ensuring that the physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care provided to children is of the highest standard.
  • Planning, carrying out and recording fun, inspirational and educational play and learning opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications

  • English & Maths GCSE's at grade C or functional skills level 2 in English & Maths is required.
