Are you an experienced Sliding Head Lathe Programmer, Setter, and Operator looking for your next challenge? We are recruiting for a leading precision engineering business seeking a skilled machinist to join their team.
The Role:
- Programming, setting, and operating Star Sliding Head machines - SR20, SV20, SR32J & SR20JII Type B.
- Machining a variety of complex components from different materials to exact specifications.
- Producing first-run prototypes and working with small batch quantities for quick turnaround.
- Overseeing unmanned/lights-out machining to maximise efficiency.
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings accurately.
- Contributing problem-solving ideas and supporting continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong experience in sliding head lathe programming, setting, and operating.
- Ability to work with tight tolerances and deliver high-precision components.
- Confident in reading technical drawings and working independently.
- A team player with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach.
- Experience in quality control, ensuring all outputs meet required specifications.
