Core duties include:
- Use 3D and 2D CAD design tools to produce individual drawings and drawing packs, on time, for use in the procurement of parts and assembly of machines
- Produce drawings to BS8888 and other company quality standards.
- Undertake mechanical calculations to substantiate and prove design concepts and drawings
- Select likely suppliers and justify their selection against price, delivery and quality criteria
- Produce cost estimates for parts and assemblies
- Produce bills of materials for use in procuring parts and purchase parts as necessary within Company guidelines
- Produce project documentation and maintain a technical project file
- Communicate with both external and internal customers to ensure design solutions are understood
- Implement, as necessary, design solutions through build, integrating and testing
