Senior Solicitor - Private Client Department (AKA The "Future Partner")

Do you dream of being a big fish in a well-established but refreshingly small pond? If you're an experienced Senior Associate or Junior Partner, ready to leap into a firm where your future includes a big, shiny ?Director/Equity Partner? title, we want to hear from you!

Our client firm has the professional swagger of a big law firm, but with the charm and warmth of your friendly neighbourhood legal heroes. They've got more work than they know what to do with, and their ready for someone like you to dive in and help us keep growing.

The Role (aka Your Future): You'll be stepping into a plan for succession with a route to Equity Partner in the next 2 years (no pressure!). With 5+ years of PQE, you'll be drafting wills like a pro, weaving magic in trusts, probate, LPAs, and Court of Protection matters.

Got a niche specialty in private client law? Perfect. We love a good specialist.

Location, Location, Location: Our office is on the picturesque South Coast (Hampshire/West Sussex), so you can enjoy the countryside and beach and still get to work easily by road or rail. Just make sure you have a car handy for those client meetings?unless you're a fan of long walks.

Key Responsibilities (aka What You'll Actually Do):

  • Write wills that make people say, "Wow!"
  • Handle trusts like you're juggling silk scarves
  • Master the art of estate administration and probate applications
  • Guide clients through LPAs for property, finance, health, and welfare (you?ll know more about their life than their best friend)
  • Tackle Court of Protection matters, including deputyship and statutory wills (it?s serious stuff, but you?ve got this)

What We're Looking For (No Unicorns, Please):

  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience (show us those legal battle scars)
  • A sharp brain for all things private client law
  • The ability to talk and work well with humans (and perhaps the occasional challenging client)
  • You're cool under pressure and thrive when things get tricky
  • You've been trained in a top firm and you know your stuff

Bonus for you if you live near Chichester, Portsmouth Petersfield, or close to a train station.

Remote working isn?t our thing, but we do flex for those all-important face-to-face moments.

What's In It For You? (Perks, Perks, Perks):

  • A competitive salary that gets a yearly check-up (just like a good will)
  • 25 days of holiday to spend wherever your heart desires
  • A pension scheme so your future is as secure as your clients'
  • A discretionary bonus based on performance (because we know you?ll smash it)

So, if you're ready to bring your expertise, humour, and ambition to a firm that values every bit of it, there's a desk with your name on it... and a future partnership too!
