We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates with a recent accounting practice background who are eager to advance their career in the industry or charity sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks and will have the opportunity to work on ad-hoc projects.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Managing supplier invoicing and payments.
  • Handling bi-weekly payment runs for suppliers and staff/volunteer expenses.
  • Conducting sales invoicing and cash allocations (non-rental).
  • Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Assisting with monthly reconciliations of control and balance sheet accounts.
  • Posting monthly journals and banking cheques.
  • Maintaining the petty cash system and issuing customer refunds.
  • Maintaining and reconciling the purchase ledger and assisting with the sales ledger in QuickBooks.
  • Sending out supplier statements and addressing queries.
  • Contributing to ad-hoc projects as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks and intermediate Excel skills.
  • Working towards AAT, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA qualification or finalist, or possessing extensive commercial or third sector experience.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
  • Good analytical skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Team player who is organised and can use their own initiative.
  • Understanding of financial concepts such as profit & loss, assets & liabilities.
  • Ability to cope under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
