A well-established, privately-owned housebuilder in North London is seeking an Interim Management Accountant to support their land acquisition team. This is an exciting short-term opportunity to work with a leading company in the property sector, contributing to a key area of the business as they navigate a period of increased workload. The ideal candidate will have excellent Excel skills and be ready to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, commercially-driven environment.

The Role:

You will be working closely with the finance team, providing vital support on land acquisition analysis. Using an existing Excel model, you will help run numbers on land opportunities the company is bidding for, ensuring accuracy and supporting decision-making. The role is highly ad hoc with fluctuating workloads, but the core responsibility is to alleviate pressure on the current team during a busy period.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Running numbers for land acquisition bids using an existing Excel model.
  • Supporting the finance team in various management accounting tasks, including monthly and ad hoc reporting.
  • Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all work, including completing an Excel test during the interview process.
  • Working closely with the team to quickly onboard, learn processes, and provide immediate value in this high-pressure area.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong proficiency in Excel is essential (the ability to comfortably use existing models rather than building them from scratch).
  • Experience in management accounting or a similar role, ideally within the property or housebuilding sector.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a track record of accuracy and thoroughness in financial reporting.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to handle fluctuating workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Immediate availability for a 2-month contract, with potential for extension depending on team needs.
Location & Working Conditions:
  • The role is based in Enfield, North London, with free street parking and a staff car park.
  • 5 days a week in the office during the initial period, to ensure effective onboarding and close collaboration with the team.
  • Easily accessible via public transport, with station and local bus routes nearby.
What’s on Offer:
  • Competitive day rate for a 2-month contract.
  • A chance to work with a highly experienced team in a dynamic and commercial finance role.
  • An excellent opportunity to add valuable land acquisition and property finance experience to your CV.
