Contract Manager - Access Control

Salary: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year

Our client has been providing buildings support to local authorities, social landlords, NHS trusts, and private sector clients for over 40 years. Founded in 1979, they have a proven track record of delivering successful mechanical, electrical, and security services and solutions to their commercial and domestic clients, with whom they have developed longstanding partnerships.

Job Summary

The Contract Manager will manage and monitor reactive repairs, preventative planned maintenance programmes, installations, and special projects for various contracts across the CCTV / Access Control Warden Call Department. This role involves meeting and liaising with clients, preparing estimates/quotes, and ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’, to Industry Standards, and within contract specifications.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of annual PPM and statutory compliance programme of works
  • Management and monitoring of specialist contractors
  • Planning and coordination of direct labour, ensuring that programmes are on time and within budget
  • Updating of the programme works, preparation of performance and current status reports
  • Developing commercial awareness and leading the continued improvements for PPM & testing regimes
  • Ensuring that health and safety risks are managed by sub-contractors, specialist contractors, and direct labour, including but not limited to, ensuring legal compliance, preparation of risk and method statements for the works
  • Managing and controlling the administration and development of the O’Cloud portal ensuring that documents are uploaded in accordance with the O’Cloud procedures and within the set time limit
  • Preparation of financial budgets, completing financial variations, and applications for payments
  • Performing any other duties as reasonably required

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to plan and prepare an annual programme of works
  • Be able to prepare and design performance reports and charts
  • Have Asbestos Awareness training and be able to manage Health & Safety risks
  • Be able to carry out Health and Safety Risk Assessments, produce Method Statements, and deliver toolbox talks
  • Have SFG20, PPM & Statutory compliance awareness
  • Have experience within the Access Control / CCTV sector
  • Be experienced with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Have an HNC/BSC in Construction Management qualification
  • Be able to produce estimates for schedule of rates contracts
  • Have quantity surveying experience
  • Have experience with ICT portals
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Have contractual awareness
  • Possess analytical skills
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
