We are currently working with a small energy company, which is working with cutting edge technology to provide low carbon energy, to recruit a Finance Director who will provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation. The role will oversee the financial operations during a critical transition period, ensuring stability, compliance, and the implementation of robust financial strategies to support the company’s goals, whilst ensuring the entrepreneurial spirit of the organisation remains.

The role will be 3-4 days per week and will be focused on;

  • Developing and implementing financial strategies to ensure the company’s operational and strategic objectives are met
  • Providing financial oversight for projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
  • Advising the Board and executive team on financial risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives
  • Overseeing the preparation and accuracy of financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, auditors, and local authorities
  • Acting as the financial point of contact for project funding and capital investment discussions
  • Reviewing and enhancing financial processes, controls, and reporting systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Providing financial guidance to operational teams to ensure alignment with the company’s objectives.

To be suitable for the role you need to be a qualified experienced Finance Director ideally with experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors. Experience of managing project financing and capital investment in large-scale infrastructure projects is also essential.
