An exciting opportunity for a Lead Medical Officer has arisen with one of Londons leading Educational Trusts.

The successful candidate will support all the schools in the trust by organising their NHS programmes i.e. vaccinations (Flu, HPV, MMR, DTP+M) fluoride application, audiology, height & weight. This involves setting dates, distributing, and collating letters, reminders and consent forms and arranging an appointments timetable for each child to ensure the minimal disruption to class.

Responsibilities:

Notify the Head Teacher, Safeguarding department and/or premises of any serious accidents.

Support Health and safety reporting with RIDDOR

Notify and liaise with parents as the need arises, accompanying them to hospital should this be deemed necessary.

Provide emergency and routine first-aid treatment for pupils, staff, and visitors, including auto injectors

Supervising pupils that self-administer their own medication

Support pupil record keeping are updated and record

Monitor emergency stock of prescribed medicines and tablets for distribution to certain students, as, in line with parental consent with the appropriate documentation completed.

Contact parent/carer if additional support is required by school staff

Record every visit and treatment required/given.

Prepare and report all accident/incident, in line with legislation, appropriately reported undertaking a full trend analysis on a termly basis.

ensure the health care records of high-risk students are prepared and always maintained with the relevant staff being notified.

Require skills and experience:

Ideally experience in a similar role with an educational institution.

Ability to provide training and support of staff to ensure best standards

Working Knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Possess well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain good relationships.

Strong IT skills
