Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental HealthNHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 6 Mental health Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team to work within the community. The client offers a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Band 6 Mental health Occupational Therapist

  • 17 bedded male acute inpatient mental health ward in the Enfield Mental Health.
  • The post holder will provide a variety of specialised Occupational Therapy Assessments and interventions.
  • Promoting a recovery approach and social inclusion on the wards.
  • Community settings and home visits as appropriate to support safe discharge of service users.
  • This will include assessment and treatment on the unit, in community settings and home visits as appropriate to support the acute clinical pathway.
  • Assessment and review of care packages and liaison with other organisations and health care providers will also be required, to enable service users to live as independently as possible.
  • Deliver evidence based Occupational Therapy interventions.
  • Tools to ascertain level of functional ability, related risk factors, level of support, and accommodation needs to implement community care plans.
  • An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.

To Be Successful.

  • Previous experience working as an Mental health Occupational Therapist in the community and mental health settings.
  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS.
  • Manual handling experience.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
  • Have all immunisations.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification.
