The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEN on a one-to-one or group basis.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Promoting independence and life skills in a structured setting.
  • Encouraging participation in lessons and activities, adapting materials as needed.
  • Providing pastoral support and fostering students' social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student progress.
About You

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive individual with a genuine interest in working with young people with SEN.

Essential Skills & Qualities:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with SEN (education or care settings).
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to meeting diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Experience with specific SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, or physical disabilities.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies or alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECs).
