A welcoming and supportive secondary school in Enfield are looking for a SEN TA for a January start. You will be working solely with 1-2 students with SEN anmd other additional needs. The students are learning at primary level, despite being secondary aged. As a SEN TA, you will be working closely with these students. This will be through teaching them, engaging them, doing crafts and other activities, and supporting them. The school are looking for someone who is nurturing, empathetic and patient. You will also need to be proactive and able to adapt. Forming strong relationships with the students is key. Due to the nature of this role, experience with primary aged children (either SEN or Mainstream) is required.

As a SEN TA, you will be supporting children aged 11-16 with Special Educational Needs (SEN).You will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with SEN within a mainstream secondary environment. If you are proactive and empathetic, and have experience working with individuals with SEN, then this SEN TA role could be a good fit for you.

As a SEN TA, you will be working in a supportive and nurturing secondary school, working closely with both staff and students to improve learning outcomes for all. The staff are close knit, and have a mutualy respectful relationship with the student body. This would be a full time, long term position within a warm and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Implementing tailored learning strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to ensure the individual needs of students are met effectively.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of differentiated activities to support student progress.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an SEN role, preferably within a school setting.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Strong understanding of various Special Educational Needs and associated support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting the diverse needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
