Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) – Enfield

An independent specialist school in Enfield is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team. We provide a nurturing environment for children aged 7 to 17 with autism and associated needs, focusing on personalised education and holistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the provision for students with special educational needs, ensuring each child receives tailored support.

  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students, adjusting interventions as necessary to promote optimal development.

  • Provide guidance and training to staff on SEN best practices and strategies.

  • Liaise with parents and carers, maintaining open communication to support students' educational journeys.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A recognised SENCO qualification is essential.

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a specialist educational setting.

  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.

  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
