Salary: £80 - £95 per day (depending on experience)
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a difference in their lives?
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school in Epping. You will be working 1:1 with a child in the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) who has non-verbal Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them to develop their communication skills and providing the support they need to thrive in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal child with ASD in the EYFS, assisting with communication and interaction.
- Help implement and develop personalised learning strategies to support the child’s development.
- Encourage the child to engage with activities in a calm and supportive environment.
- Use visual aids, sign language, and other communication tools to facilitate understanding and expression.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child’s individual learning needs are being met.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping the child to build confidence, social skills, and independence.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally in an EYFS setting or with special educational needs (SEN), particularly ASD.
- A patient, calm, and nurturing approach to supporting children with non-verbal communication needs.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to use visual aids and sign language (desirable, but not essential).
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and show initiative when needed.
- A passion for working with children and supporting their personal and educational growth.
