This role offers the chance to strengthen technical expertise while also expanding digital skills and project management capabilities.Responsibilities :
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project briefs.
  • Design and specify all Electrical Building Services systems, including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection.
  • Perform and oversee detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools such as Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and in-house developed tools.
  • Prepare technical specifications using NBS.
  • Collaborate with my clients international Global Technology Centre (GTC) to enhance building services projects where applicable.
  • Work closely with the BIM team to develop models and drawings, with proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Represent my client in meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works.
  • Prepare reports and technical notes.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation in line with company standards.
  • Adhere to all quality, environmental, and governance processes.
  • Manage personal workload, regularly update the forward plan, and work within time allocations.
  • Oversee elements of project delivery and understand budget costings.
  • Monitor project progress, reporting anomalies or scope changes to the project lead.
  • Support the technical development of junior staff.
Requirements:Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Professional Accreditation: Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE or IET.Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in industry-standard software such as Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft applications.
  • Experience with HV tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with energy reduction strategies and decarbonization approaches for both new and existing buildings.
  • Some knowledge of energy-related contracts and funding mechanisms, such as SALIX.
  • Understanding of energy and carbon data capture and analytics.
  • Awareness of building physics principles, including passive design solutions and fabric-first approaches.
  • Competency in designing for measurement and verification, with experience in commissioning and post-installation performance evaluation.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in a design consultancy or contractor design environment is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant technical standards.
  • Proven ability to manage project deliverables, make informed decisions, and take initiative.
  • Strong report writing skills and experience presenting to clients and attending project meetings.
  • Ability to work within time and cost budgets as set in project briefings.
