Main Purpose of the Job

To ensure that the day-to-day quality and safety of raw materials coming into site are to the Oscar Mayer Standards.

To drive compliance and continuous improvement in:

The intake process and checks of the Raw Materials at site.

The Risk assessment of the Raw Materials on site and their end uses.

To work with Suppliers and build relationships with them so there is a day-to-day contact on site.

With Group procurement on changes to Raw Materials and the Tender Process.


Key Responsibilities

Ensure that the site follows the Oscar Mayer Raw Material Risk Assessment process, and it is completed for all existing raw materials and new including the required vulnerability assessment.

Ensure that the back door checks on all raw materials are completed against a risk assessment and are documented within the sites systems.

Work closely with the Suppliers on Seasonal and Quality issues.

Track and trend supplier performance at site level that will feed into the Group data.

Ensure close out of Non-Conformances related to suppliers and issues raised.

Conduct visits to suppliers where there are issues and action is required outside of the Governance Audit.

Conduct visits to suppliers to support widening of knowledge of key raw materials for themselves and QA team.

Ensure raw material specifications are in place for existing and new raw materials through the raw material specification technologists.

Responsible for the change management process around raw materials at a site level; collaboration with the wider team to ensure raw material changes are communicated effectively to the customers and captured on FP specs.

Support in writing the Oscar Mayer Technical Standards for Raw Materials alongside the SMEs in place.

Support in the Oscar Mayer Horizon Scanning Process and with the customers.

Support in the completion of the supply chain mapping process of all materials and suppliers.

Support the Group Supplier Approval Manager & Integrity Lead in gathering data for UK Soy Manifesto and other data required under legislation

Work alongside the Head of Technical on any project deemed necessary by the business.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential level of knowledge, qualification, training and experience necessary to enable the Jobholder to perform the job to an acceptable standard:

Qualification

Degree or equivalent in a food related discipline or relevant experience.

Food Safety Level 3 as a minimum

HACCP Level 3 as a minimum

TACCP / VACCP Training


Knowledge & Experience

3 years experience within Chilled Manufacturing (High Care and / or High Risk)

Worked in a similar role or can show previous experience.

Understanding of raw material risk assessments and how these operates.
